2. At a glance of Knight's review!!

A. Streamlined Visa Processing
Student visa applicants with a CoE from a participating Australian university at Bachelor or above degree are proposed to be treated as lower migration risk (similar to the current Assessment Level 1), regardless of their nationality.

B. Post-study Work Visa
University graduates who have completed a Bachelor or above degree in Australia are proposed to be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa for two to four years respectively.

C. English Requirement
International students from AL1 regions must satisfy Academic English requirement rather than Government's English requirement.

D. Reductions in Financial Requirements for Assessment Level 3 and Assessment Level 4 Student
vidence of funds for Assessment Level 3 applicants would be reduced from 24 to 18 months; Evidence of funds for Assessment Level 4 applicants would be reduced from 36 to 24 months and, if evidence is being presented as a cash deposit, their savings history reduced from six to three months.

E. The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement
On 5 November 2011, the Australian government introduced a new genuine temporary entrant requirement for all student visa applicants. This requirement will help to assess on whether students' individual circumstances indicate that their main aim is for a temporary stay in Australia.

F. More Flexible Arrangement for English Language Study
Removing the English language test requirements for higher risk Assessment Level 4 and above stand-alone English Language Intensive Courses for Oversea Students (ELICOS) visa applicants.

G. Increase Visa Validity of all Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Visa by Six Months for the Purpose of Interactive Marking of a Thesis

H. Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) Policy Stop
Stopping DIAC's Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) policy. Offshore visa applicants do not need a PVA letter from DIAC before education provider can issue a confirmation of enrolment.

3. Alternative English Language Tests for Student Visas

Except IELTS, the DIAC department will accept the following English language tests on and after 5 November 2011.
TOEFL Paper-Based Test (TOEFL PBT) ; TOEFL Internet-Based test (TOEFL iBT) ； CAE test (Cambridge English: Advanced) ；OET test

Note: The TOEFL paper based test is only for Student visa applicants in: Belarus, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Moldova, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda and Uzbekistan
