NSW CRG Meeting Update


A periodic Clients Reference Group (CRG) meeting was held this morning in Sydney. The meeting focussed largely on the upcoming free DIAC roadshows on the 1 July changes, and revealed some new information, as listed below:
The requisite Regulations for the 1 July changes have been signed and are expected to be published on Tuesday 29 May, and the associated Legislative Instruments are expected to be delivered to the Minister later next week;
Prospective sponsored migrants’ SkillSelect Expressions of Interest (EoIs) will remain valid for two years, but their English language test results will remain valid for three;
Employers accessing prospective migrants' EoIs will need a AUSkey;
Prospective sponsored migrants no further stay conditions will be waived;
The first of SkillSelect's "periodic invitation rounds" will be in July;
Regional Certifying Bodies (RCBs) will provide "advice" only, allowing prospective employers review rights; and
The visa cancellation and no training requirements in the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) will be retained.
